Astrogun did comment covering this on their news page and said: “The original build of Episode 1 is being archived for a brand new rebuild and you’ll get the new version as well as all future Updates and Episodes to VAST for FREE!” Also commenting: “The VAST team is aiming to have Update 2 completed by the end of April, pushed to the tvOS App Store and for free automatically to existing customers by early May 2018.” While there’s only one episode (more episodes coming in the near future), the first episode truly makes up for the lack of multiple episodes available right out of the bat. Through the first episode of VAST, there are notable characters and you find yourself really getting to know more and more about the characters and enemies. I’ve found the storyline to be quite rich and a core aspect of the game and what makes it stand out from other first-person shooters that I’ve played. When the team arrives at the mythical Frozen Star, they find their ship is in need of repair with the Vorid horde hot on their trail.” “In VAST, you play as Enzo, the security cyborg on the Aces High expedition starship, owned and captained by cat Michu, piloted by blue-skinned hot-shot Yori, and led around the galaxy by their exo-archeologist frog-man Jasper. I can easily say that they’ve accomplished that with VAST for Apple TV and perfected it with the new Apple TV 4K.

The folks over at Astrogun saw this as an opportunity and went for it.

When Apple introduced the Apple TV 4K with the powerful A10X Fusion chip back in late 2017 I was shocked to find developers are still not taking full advantage of new Apple TV.

The Apple TV hasn’t really had any great first-person shooters which is a bit sad because I had high hopes that the Apple TV would be a close replacement for consoles.
